Production Manager

Job Overview

Secca Search Group, a leading executive recruiting firm, is seeking a motivated and skilled Production Manager on behalf of our client in the homebuilding industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the division's Cadence Construction strategy, ensuring all resources align to meet yearly plans. This role requires continuous communication with Construction and Purchasing teams to identify opportunities for improvement and to maintain production momentum. This candidate will work closely with the VP of Construction and Area Construction Managers (ACMs) to maintain production schedules and address any issues that arise.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage weekly starts/releases to align with the Community Cycle Plan (CCP) and divisional cadence plan.
• Slot homes at the point of sale using slotting methodology to provide accurate start and closing forecasts.
• Lead weekly starts meetings, utilizing Prestart BuildPro Task reports to drive predictability and identify delays.
• Collaborate with the Purchasing team to optimize division pods for workload distribution.
• Centrally manage starts and ensure adherence to forecasted schedules, including Frame Starts, Drywall, Cabinets, QC, and Final CO.
• Develop and manage BuildPro schedules for optimal cycle time efficiency, considering allowable weather delays.
• Hold Superintendents accountable for daily BuildPro updates.
• Provide weekly communication on current slot statuses.
• Manage the Inventory Plan, tracking Showcase homes in various stages of completion.
• Lead weekly production meetings to update on all homes under production and manage vendor schedule adherence.
• Provide solutions and recommendations for improving cycle time and schedule adherence.
• Recommend staffing and trade partner changes to meet community and production needs.
• Provide bi-weekly metrics on starts, closings, and schedule adherence, along with improvement recommendations.
