The Production Manager at the Whitehall Cement Plant will manage the production department to efficiently manufacture budgeted amounts of products while meeting safety, environmental, and quality objectives.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Manage the plant’s production functions, including shift teams, raw materials team and service team
Ensure that the plant produces the required quantity of quality products
Direct the effective and efficient use of plant production equipment and people
Provide leadership to department employees by directing, coaching, supporting and delegating as the situation requires
Oversee plant management in terms of anticipating future needs of the plant, including input into three-year improvement plans
Manage plant production following Cement Industrial Framework and procedures
Budget for all plant volumes, including raw materials, fuels, intermediate products and cement shipments
Supervise clinker production process
Manage refractory repairs for kilns and clinker coolers including budgeting, products specifications, and installation
Direct the setting of annual department and personal objectives
Complete performance appraisals
Liaise with other departments
Oversee the reporting of department’s effectiveness
Safeguard assets, while establishing environmental compliance
Other duties as assigned
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Required Education: Bachelor's degree or 7 years of equivalent experience.
Field of Study Preferred: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related engineering field plus 7 years of progressively responsible, post baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related engineering position within a cement plant.
Required Work Experience: 3 years conducting refractory selecting and installation in a leadership capacity, 1 year with kiln and mill operations, 3 years conducting cement process engineering activities.
Travel Requirements: Up to 15%

Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
