Position Overview:

Aemetis Biogas LLC is seeking a dynamic and experienced Biogas Production Manager (BPM) to oversee our state-of-the-art anaerobic lagoon digester(s), distributed biogas pre-treatment facilities, and centralized biogas upgrading facility. In this role, the BPM will lead a dedicated team of operators, ensuring a safe and efficient workplace while optimizing biogas production. We seek a detail-oriented leader with a robust background in lagoon digester operation, wastewater treatment and/or oil/gas operations, who thrives on organization, innovation and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of Dairy Digesters and Biogas Treatment Facilities, as well as the centralized RNG upgrading facility.
  • Lead and motivate the operations team to achieve high performance and productivity.
  • Apply strong leadership practices to achieve or exceed the expected level of quality and production.
  • Effectively allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Implement and maintain rigorous quality control procedures.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to support and execute preventive maintenance activities.
  • Work with our design and operations engineering groups to recommend enhancements and operability reviews to apply innovative solutions to maintain and potentially increase profitability and production capabilities.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of long-term operational strategies.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks to ensure smooth operations.
  • Develop and implement emergency response plans and train personnel accordingly.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on operational performance.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of all operational activities and processes.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and accomplish production results by communicating job expectations and effectively planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Natural Sciences, Operations Management, or related field is preferred. Consideration will be given to candidates who have 5+ years of work experience in digester operations and maintenance.
  • A proactive individual with attention to detail; self -starter.
  • Proven ability to achieve targets and manage multiple priorities under time constraints.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Experience in Microsoft Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
