The Production Coordinator is responsible for communicating production priorities to the machine shop, materials group, inspection, and painting operations to ensure that production schedules are met.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist Assembly Manager to prioritize assembly builds based upon the linear calendar
Review MRP planned order requirements for assigned value stream and plan release of work to the assembly floor based on material availability, work center capacity, and published order release guidelines
Add work orders, request, and obtain necessary drawings, prepare work order packets, and deliver work order packets to the assembly floor
Provide daily list of top priority items to manufacturing and materials personnel
Provide estimated completion dates for fabricated components as requested by assembly, production planners and buyers. Expedite orders as required to meet desired completion targets
Provide immediate feedback to production planners when original targets will not be met. Suggest alternative methods or part routings, where appropriate, that may allow original targets to be met
Provide feedback to manufacturing and materials management concerning the root causes of expedited parts and recommend solutions that, if implemented, would reduce the number of expedites required
Ensure that manufacturing assemblers are working to established priorities and notify manufacturing supervision, lead people, and production planners when variances arise
Correct work order problems that arise during the production process and update Oracle system to reflect changes
Assist production planners and stockroom personnel to schedule customer service order shipments and/or backorders based on material availability and established customer service guidelines
Recommend and implement improvements to the production planning and manufacturing processes for the purpose of improving cycle time and on time delivery
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Must possess outstanding communication skills
Self-starter with proven track record for accomplishing tasks even when facing significant adversity
Basic Microsoft Office knowledge
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED
5+ years of manufacturing experience in a machine shop environment
Experience with Oracle manufacturing software (version 10.7 or higher) preferred but not required
Must be able to read blueprints and correlate to Bill of Material
Able to utilize Engineering Data Sheet and Sales Turn Over documents
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Moderate to frequent exposure to shop environment; may be exposed to dust, odors, oils, fumes, chemicals, noise and moving parts. Work typically requires the usage of PPE and can require work on the facility’s production floor or customer’s production environment
Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl and move about facility and/or customer’s facilities. Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
