We’re currently working with a global company that is an industry leading manufacturer of machinery and industrial equipment who is looking to add a Product Manager of Chipmaking Metal Work. This leading company operates in over 20 countries with great brands, great products and great people. Position Description:

  • Leadership role on cross-functional development teams translating end-user, application, and distribution needs and trends to ensure new products exceed users' expectations
  • Lead new product development process by developing new products that are innovative, design-driven, solves end-user needs and profitable
  • Conduct market research to identify and track market trends, providing data in a timely manner to support category development. Understand the Voice of the Consumer
  • Produce competitive analysis materials for selected products and lines
  • Analyze costing of products and perform necessary cost-reduction exercises to ensure new products meet or exceed margin requirements.


Category Management:

  • Responsible for developing and executing strategies for new and existing products. Maintain 3–5-year product roadmap. Strong emphasis on CNC machinery
  • Develop marketing strategy by product line, including target financial performance objectives and periodically review product offerings and selection to make recommendations for their continuation, expansion, and/or discontinuation
  • Review/monitor product-pricing, margins, and make recommendations and adjustments accordingly
  • Monitor product sales and assess marketing successes and financial performance
  • Assist in the budgeting process as directed


Marketing / Sales Support:

  • Work with marketing to provide the messaging for catalog, sell sheets and other supporting sales instruments for successful product launches
  • Provide copy, technical information, and support material to Marketing for advertising, packaging, catalogs, and other promotions as required
  • Maintain product and marketing files, which include pricelists, competitive literature, master specification sheets and vendor information
  • Support the sales effort by completing on-time development of programs, promotions, and sales materials.
  • Respond to special quote requests appropriately
  • Support training and sales programs for reps, dealers, customer service and sales
  • Visit end-users, key dealers and accounts and participate in tradeshow events as appropriate
  • Prepare and present line reviews and competitive analysis


Background Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or minimum 5 years of experience in industrial product management
  • Must be self-driven with a desire to grow the business and grow professionally
  • Understanding of all aspects of product launches, program development and sales
  • Proficient with Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word; generating reports requisitions, and product research. Experience with SAP helpful
