The Product Management Director is responsible for leading the development of new products, developing a go-forward brand architecture, driving the vision and strategy of Jacent’s private label business in both new and existing categories.
This position oversees private label product strategy, brand development and market intelligence. This role will work cross-functionally with product development (“PD”) project management, merchandising and sourcing to deliver on sales and margin goals while optimizing inventory investment. The objective of the Product Management Director is to maximize sales, revenue, market share, and profit margins within Jacent’s private label portfolio.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Direct supervision of graphics team
- Drive new brand architecture strategy and develop a clear brand position; create premium and sustainable guard rails
- Lead overall brand package design direction and standards
- Provide quarterly market intelligence and trend research to drive innovation to be incorporated into handoffs
- Explore development of new categories
- Provide product features and benefits
- Execute product strategies aligned with business trends and objectives
- Partner with marketing manager on new product launches
- Collaborate across multiple teams to drive towards key company objectives including merchandising, sourcing, finance, operations & customer development
- Partner with buyers through weekly meetings to improve product, packaging, and sourcing to reduce speed to market
- Execute exclusive brand opportunities for our largest customers to grow footprint in current accounts
- Understand and demonstrate safe work practices at all times to ensure a safe work environment
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by manager
- Strong knowledge of the competitive landscape, with experience in the grocery channel preferred
- Extensive experience in sourcing from import suppliers based overseas
- Strong at multi-tasking skills with a team player mentality but the ability to lead and direct to achieve goals and objectives
- Track record of using qualitative and quantitative data to prioritize and drive decision-making
- Metrics-driven: strong analytical, problem-solving, and synthesis skills are necessary
- Requires a minimum two hours per week that coincide with Taiwan time zone
- Requires domestic and international travel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Adept at building effective business relationships
- Highly organized and ability to adapt to quickly changing priorities with a sense of urgency
- Exhibit a strong sense of ownership, ability to work independently, be attentive to detail and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter with the ability to develop policies and processes to meet business objectives
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising or relevant field or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years of working knowledge and proven track record of merchandising, sourcing, and product development experience
- Experience working with and guiding designers through artwork creation process.
- Extensive experience in consumer packaged goods (“CPG”) general merchandise categories including household, kitchen gadgets and cleaning
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience within hardlines, consumer products related industries (retail, wholesale, and/or grocery channel)
- Experience and proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft365 including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Adobe, and web-browsers like Google Chrome
