Compensation Range: $27 - 35 per hour

We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Product Development Specialist to join our client's teamin Framingham, MA!

This role is critical in ensuring the timely shipment of quality products, aligned with the brand vision and market demands. The ideal candidate has a keen eye for fashion, strong organizational skills, and a drive for excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Submit color evaluations, fabric qualities, and other essential details for product development.
  • Assist the Product Manager in maintaining the Time & Action (T&A) calendar by reviewing work in progress reports weekly, ensuring timely approvals.
  • Input development details into PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system.
  • Track sales data and conduct selling projects as needed.
  • Develop and execute products based on the vision and direction provided by Merchants and Managers, ensuring timely shipment of quality, trend-right products.
  • Establish strong customer service and working relationships with agents, buyer vendors, and inter-departmental associates.
  • Regularly shop various levels of stores, including own and competitors, for fashion trends, color direction, and value.
  • Develop strong working relationships and communication skills.
  • Ensure styling details and product standards are clearly communicated and understood by agents/vendors.
  • Facilitate problem resolution in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate the development process according to time and action deadlines.
  • Develop an understanding of how to create achievable programs and add efficiencies while working with the Manager and team.
  • Collaborate with technical design and design teams to ensure product styling and fit are consistent with current market trends.
  • Work with Managers, Agents, and Vendors to develop new techniques and concept samples, and closely collaborate with the Sourcing Team.
  • Review all submits received from vendors for compliance with standards.
  • Communicate technically achievable directions to vendors on how to correct color, strike-offs, components, and samples.
  • Consult Product Manager or team members for functional guidance as necessary.
  • Assist in monitoring delivery and production flow according to the Time & Action deadlines.
  • Monitor Work in Progress (WIP) reports with the Product Development team, Agents, and Vendors to ensure on-time delivery for all programs.
  • Approve submits including trims, dips, print strike-offs, fabric quality, and samples against established standards.
  • Resolve issues as they arise in accordance with the Time and Action calendar.
  • Prioritize workload effectively.
  • Act with integrity and recommend methods to improve product construction and quality.


Qualifications:

  • Experience level: Experienced
  • Degree in Fashion/Home Product Design and/or Merchandising.
  • Minimum of 1+ years of Product Development experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, PLM, Adobe Illustrator.
  • Broad-based knowledge of garment specifications, including clothing construction, grading, etc.
  • Knowledge of garment testing standards and protocols.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Ability to communicate and interpret conceptual design ideas.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; works well in a team environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills.
