We are seeking a creative and experienced Product Development Consultant to join our team on a full-time basis. The Product Development Consultant will play a critical role in guiding and supporting the development of new products from concept to commercialization. The role requires a deep understanding of product lifecycle management, market analysis, design engineering, and project management.
Roles And Responsibilities
Product Strategy and Planning:
Collaborate with clients to define product vision, goals, and strategic objectives.
Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and feasibility studies to identify market opportunities and customer needs.
Develop product roadmaps and timelines for concept development, prototyping, testing, and launch.
Concept Development and Design Engineering:
Lead brainstorming sessions and workshops to generate innovative product concepts and ideas.
Translate conceptual ideas into detailed product specifications, including functional requirements, design features, and performance criteria.
Work closely with design engineers, industrial designers, and technical teams to create prototypes and mock-ups.
Prototype Testing and Validation:
Coordinate prototype fabrication and testing to validate product design and functionality.
Conduct usability testing, product trials, and pilot studies to gather user feedback and iterate product improvements.
Analyze test results and make recommendations for design refinements and enhancements.
Manufacturability and Cost Optimization:
Evaluate manufacturability considerations and collaborate with manufacturing partners to optimize production processes.
Conduct cost analysis, value engineering, and supplier sourcing to achieve cost-effective manufacturing solutions.
Ensure product designs meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and industry certifications.
Project Management and Execution:
Manage cross-functional project teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
Monitor project progress, track milestones, and manage project budgets and resources effectively.
Mitigate project risks, resolve issues, and escalate challenges as needed to achieve project deliverables.
Client Advisory and Communication:
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on product development strategies, technical solutions, and market trends.
Present project updates, findings, and recommendations to clients, stakeholders, and executive leadership.
Build strong client relationships through clear communication, responsiveness, and delivery of exceptional service.
