About The Role
We are seeking a Mid-Level UX Designer to support our Lead UX Designer in creating exceptional user experiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in UX principles, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to translate user needs into effective design solutions. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and other designers, to deliver intuitive and engaging digital products.

Base Salary Range: $90,000/yr to $127,000/yr + equity + benefits
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries at our headquarters in San Francisco, California. Individual pay is determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

About The Role
We are seeking a Mid-Level UX Designer to support our Lead UX Designer in creating exceptional user experiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in UX principles, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to translate user needs into effective design solutions. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and other designers, to deliver intuitive and engaging digital products.
You will
- Collaborate with the Lead UX Designer to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Translate concepts into wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.
- Conduct user research, including user interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to gather insights and inform design decisions.
- Create user personas, journey maps, wireframes, and prototypes to communicate design concepts.
- Assist in maintaining and expanding the design systems and style guides.
- Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and stakeholders.
- Work closely with developers to ensure design specifications are implemented accurately.
- Continuously iterate on designs based on user feedback and data-driven insights.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest UX trends, tools, and best practices.
- Ready to work in a fast-moving, sometimes ambiguous, startup environment
- Excited to explore the world of food and healthcare while working with your team to chart a simple path for our users through it
- Not afraid of a challenge. You welcome constructive criticism and new perspectives. You interrogate product requirements and look beyond the obvious
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices.
- Comfortable using quantitative data and qualitative feedback to inform your design decisions
- Skilled at combining creativity and analysis to propose solutions and identify edge cases
- Experienced in using UX design best practices to design solutions and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design.
- Strong visual design skills with good understanding of user-system interaction.
- 3+ years of experience designing web applications that have shipped.
- Strong portfolio showcasing proficiency in design software and an understanding of user-centered design principles.
- Deep familiarity with desktop and mobile web app interaction patterns.
- Familiarity with front-end programming: HTML, CSS, Javascript.
- Readiness to work in a fast-moving, sometimes ambiguous startup environment.
- Proficiency in design software such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Illustrator, Photoshop, Figma, or other visual design and wireframing tools.
