Position Summary
The Product Compliance Specialist will join our Product Compliance Team, reporting to the Legal Team. The position is responsible for supporting market access, reporting compliance trends, administrating first party product investigations and recalls, analyzing and administrating third party recalls, and auditing product compliance on the platform.
Job Responsibilities
- Work as an integral part of the Product Compliance Team to support pre-market and post-market product compliance.
- Coordinate data requests for Product Compliance, Trade Compliance, Intellectual Property, and Legal Compliance teams.
- Act as team liaison between the Product Review team and Legal team.
- Track and report compliance trends and changes to regulatory and mandatory standards.
- Track and archive third party product research.
- Analyze and administer third party product recalls for designated countries.
- Flag products requiring investigation and disposition by Product Compliance Managers.
- Administer first party product investigations and recalls.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and managing product compliance procedures.
- Conduct regular internal audits to ensure that gating is sufficiently minimizing product compliance issues downstream.
- Conduct regular internal audits to ensure that delisting is efficiently catching products caught downstream.
- Support the development of a product compliance training program for business partners.
- Provide training to Product Review team as needed.
- Prepare reports and presentations on product compliance activities and status for senior management.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in consumer products and/or compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area (information and library science, legal research, law, engineering, supply chain management, or international business). Additional years of relevant work experience will be required for those without related educational backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to understand “the question behind the question.”
- Exceptional program and project management skills.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Self-starter, entrepreneurial, “roll up your sleeves” attitude.
- A strong work ethic and sense of professional accountability.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced start-up environment.
- Flexibility to accommodate video conference calls between countries around the world.
- Strong computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to utilize a wide variety of research databases and online resources.
- Ability to read, write, and speak both English and Mandarin fluently a plus.
