The Supply Planner (Also known as Procurement Planner) manages tactical replenishment of key raw materials used in James Hardie production processes. This individual manages replenishment planning for long-lead time materials to ensure continuity of supply while avoiding excessive inventory levels. This individual also is responsible for implementation and maintenance of Kanban programs. Key to success is an understanding of replenishment processes, attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to operate in a dynamic environment. The Procurement Planner is a member of the Procurement team and reports directly to the Procurement Manager.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work with suppliers to manage long lead time raw materials, maintaining a balance between ensuring continuity of supply and avoiding excess inventory levels.
  • Develop relationships with suppliers to ensure open communication.
  • Communicate critical raw material forecast to suppliers.
  • Implement and maintain Kanban replenishment programs.
  • Maintain and publish key performance indicators (KPI’s).
  • Work cross-functionally to manage through supply risk.
  • Escalate supply challenges to ensure they are addressed in a timely manner.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Business, Materials/Logistics Management, or a technical field (advanced degree preferred).
  • 1-3 years of planning experience (experience in manufacturing environment preferred)
  • A track record of successfully delivering to Key Performance Indicators and business objectives
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to drive decisions and build consensus among stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Proficiency with Excel
  • Experience with an ERP system (SAP preferred)
