The Procurement Manager is responsible for the procurement activities that support new product development, product improvement and product sustainability. The Procurement Manager is responsible to strategically source suppliers and work interactively with the business teams as they develop short- and long-term product strategies. Responsibilities also include maintaining supplier relationships, meeting the requirements per the EGSM and leading subordinates to execute the aforementioned responsibilities. The Procurement Manager has departmental budget responsibilities and global travel is required for this position.


Examples of Typical Activities:

  • Build and execute RFQ & RFP packages for new and existing products or services per a standardized format
  • Create supply strategies for business categories
  • Provide effective support in new product development teams
  • Negotiates price, terms, payment and delivery with suppliers
  • Identify capable new suppliers that meet EGSM requirements
  • Work with Finance / Engineering / Manufacturing on make/buy analysis
  • Lead and execute cost savings program (RCQ)
  • Effective written and oral communication internally and externally
  • Set up and maintain items to be purchased in the ERP system
  • Execute effective cost performance against standards
  • Ensure that selected suppliers are providing expected business results


Required Experience

BS Degree required; 5-7 years of applicable experience specifically: global sourcing in a fast paced consumer product business required.


Required Technical Competencies

Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills

Project Management Skills – ability to follow project plans and meet key milestones on time

Demonstrated Negotiation Skills – ability to develop and execute a negotiation strategy

Demonstrated Leadership Skills – ability to lead and coach subordinates and other cross-functional personnel

Proficient in strategic sourcing – utilizes a systematic approach to sourcing

Proficient with MS Office Suite

Demonstrated understanding of cost drivers and manufacturing cost


Desired Secondary Competencies

Experience with a company ERP system

Understanding of indirect spend purchases
