Process Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Process Engineer with 5-10 years of experience in process engineering, specifically in gas separation and liquefaction. The ideal candidate will provide expert support and recommendations for process systems design, operational practices, and controls in our LNG operations. A valid/current TWIC is required for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and provide guidance to operating facilities regarding process systems design, operational practices, and controls.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and take necessary actions for any exceedances.
• Collect and analyze data to identify and advise on exceedances of Safe Integrity Limits (SOLs).
• Assist in developing and using process simulations to investigate system steady-state responses for diagnostics and troubleshooting.
• Support the execution of optimization plans for the LNG process, aligning with company goals and objectives.
• Assist plant operations personnel in troubleshooting and resolving process issues.
• Develop and utilize process monitoring tools to improve production and efficiency performance.
• Prepare preliminary cost estimates and schedules for capital and facility upgrade projects.
• Engage in the technical Management of Change (MOC) process for capital projects and routine facility changes. Ensure thorough technical reviews and closeouts of critical MOC activities.
• Lead and participate in Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) and Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies to ensure safety in design and facility operations.
• Facilitate Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs) and other process safety and technical studies, such as alarm management.
• Conduct incident investigations to analyze equipment and system failures, providing solutions and corrective actions for root causes.
• Collaborate with Commercial Operations, Regulatory Affairs, and other departments to ensure availability of appropriate process data and analyses to support business objectives.
• Provide process engineering support for commissioning, startup, and operation of the LNG plant and new process units.
• Participate in audits as a technical resource.
• Conduct process-based technical training for operations staff upon request.
• Interact with the contractor's Process Lead/Process Engineering Lead in weekly meetings to provide guidance on the design of the LNG plant and supporting facilities.
• Facilitate plant debottlenecking studies and operations readiness to maximize facility utilization. Propose design solutions and performance test requirements to optimize production and address process-related incidents.
• Develop preliminary cost estimates and schedules for capital and facility upgrade projects.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in chemical/Process Engineering (master’s degree preferred).
• Experience: 5-10 years of work experience in process engineering, including gas separation and liquefaction.
• Skills: Proficiency in process simulations, process monitoring tools, and incident investigation. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Capability to lead and participate in safety and technical studies (PHA, HAZOP, PSSR).
