As a Process Engineer, you will have the opportunity to utilize your technical skills in a high-speed manufacturing setting that emphasizes safety. As Process Engineer 2, you will play a crucial role in executing standard engineering tasks to develop, test, deploy, and document manufacturing processes and techniques essential for producing new and current parts or products. These efforts align with product specifications, customer demands, and quality benchmarks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, implement, and document various routine to moderately complex operational sequences and processes for manufacturing new and existing parts or products.
  • Estimate manufacturing costs, process duration, and manpower needs.
  • Focus on identifying continuous improvement opportunities, reducing costs, and implementing timely corrective actions.
  • Compile, document, and present results for review.
  • Troubleshoot a range of routine to moderately complex production issues related to manufacturing processes.
  • Investigate and determine root causes of failures and issues.
  • Recommend countermeasures or changes in processing methods.
  • Conduct routine to moderately complex engineering trials and evaluations of production processes.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends, issues, and improvement opportunities.
  • Recommend process adjustments to enhance product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and reduce material and labor costs.
  • Develop, write, and revise work procedures.
  • Conduct research, compile data, and prepare reports.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations.
  • Create training materials and train key production staff and supervisors on new work procedures and manufacturing processes.
  • May design simple to moderately complex jigs and fixtures for use in small-scale production projects or sections of larger projects.

Qualifications

Education

Required

Bachelors or better in Engineering or related field.

Experience

Required

  • Japanese is preferred but not mandatory.
  • 2-4 years of experience:
  • At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a comparable combination of education and practical experience.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Practical understanding of applying engineering science and technology to product manufacturing, production processes, quality control, cost management, and other techniques for optimizing manufacturing effectiveness.
  • Strong technical and analytical capabilities, with strategic problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and preventive measures.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and understanding blueprints, models, technical plans, and drawings.
  • Demonstrated initiative and self-direction in planning, organizing, documenting, and resolving issues.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and cross-functional projects independently, working effectively with teams at all organizational levels.
  • Willingness to engage hands-on in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including fluent English proficiency and effective presentation abilities.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Office 365, MS Project, and other software applications used for creating technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Availability for occasional overtime work.
