We are seeking passionate and dedicated teachers to join our team, focusing on teaching core skills to engaged students without the distraction of classroom politics. This position involves creating and teaching honors-level English Language Arts (ELA) courses for 5th to 10th-grade students using modern technology in a supportive, collaborative environment. Our small class sizes ensure a personalized teaching experience.
Position Details
Full-Time or Part-Time: Flexible scheduling with part-time positions offering a fixed 4-hour schedule and potential for additional hours if desired.
Location: Remote
Equipment: Provided by the school
School Calendar: Year-round
Responsibilities
Teach honors-level courses in Junior High and High School Language Arts, focusing on reading, grammar, spelling, and writing.
Develop and implement lesson plans and instructional materials for non-political core subjects.
Create and adapt curriculum based on student needs using a digital platform (all related expenses covered by the school).
Employ diverse teaching strategies such as inquiry, lecture, and discovery to enhance learning experiences.
Translate lesson plans into effective and engaging learning experiences.
Assess students' academic and social growth, maintain records, and prepare progress reports.
Engage students in remote learning, ensuring they stay on task and motivated.
Recommend books and instructional aids as necessary.
Administer standardized tests in line with state testing requirements.
Collaborate with administrators to develop evaluation methods.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Education (Master's or PhD preferred)
US State Teaching License for Junior High or High School Education; ELA Endorsement is a plus
Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience at the Junior High or High School Honors level in Language Arts (excluding Teacher's Aide or ESL positions)
Advanced writing and grammar skills with the ability to teach these critical skills
Proficiency with technology and willingness to learn new software
Solid internet connection and a professional home workspace for conducting remote classes
Knowledge of Latin is a plus but not required
