Print Production Specialist
Job Title: Print Production Specialist
Reports to: Lead Print Production Specialist/Print Shop Manager
Dept/School: Communications/CTE Center
Work Year: 200 days
Work Hours: Monday – Friday (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM)
Base Salary: $28,000 Actual salary will be calculated based on experience.
Primary Purpose
To help provide centralized copy services to campuses/departments to enhance productivity, improve quality, increase efficiency and reduce wear on equipment. Additionally, to provide support for mail operations in the area of delivery, metering, and distribution.
Education/Certification
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED
Some college preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills
Printing and digital copy skills
Working knowledge of layout and design concepts
Ability to manage and use all various machines and equipment utilized by the Print Shop
Ability to communicate well and deal with all people in a courteous and positive manner
Ability to work independently, with minimal direct supervision
Ability to work well under pressure, with flexibility and efficiency
Organizational and time management skills
Basic computer skills
Experience
Two years of related work experience preferred
Major Responsibilities And Duties
Maintain knowledge of Print Shop best practices.
Maintain knowledge of printer operator reference manuals.
Assist in processing online print orders to meet demands of customers.
Perform quality control checks.
Run high volume copy equipment and perform finishing work.
Ensure printer devices are working properly, checking for quality through daily inspections.
Maintain toner replacement and paper delivery to printer devices.
Clear paper jams and inform Lead Print Production Specialist of specific problems.
Conduct normal key operator preventative machine maintenance.
Operate necessary computer programs and email systems for opening, sending, and retrieving files.
Operate document management systems via established protocols.
Respond to, and coordinate, all service calls required by operator.
Multi-task and prioritize jobs.
Help troubleshoot when equipment is down or deadlines are in jeopardy.
Maintain appropriate documentation and records.
Maintain inventories of supplies needed.
Gain skills necessary to meet the needs of the district Print Center.
Interact well with staff to develop good working relationships in order to promote appreciation of the service provided by the Print Center.
Communicate effectively both verbally and written.
Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
Perform occasional cleaning duties as needed.
Complete other duties as assigned.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, kneeling, stooping, bending, reaching, pulling and pushing. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs paper, printed items, and other deliveries. Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding, use of mouse and occasional reaching. Prolonged use of computer. Requires physical ability to stand for many hours. Manual dexterity required for operating office machinery (phone, printers, binding equipment, etc.). May work occasional prolonged or irregular hours.
