The Print Operator/ Finisher manages the full lifecycle of taking a digital file from the Company’s Graphic Design Department and transforming it into a printed form on an array of fabrics/materials, ready for finishing. Primarily this position is concerned with the setup, operation, and ongoing maintenance of large format commercial/industrial graphic machines and their use in the creation of world class visual elements/signage for our customers. In addition, this position will also conduct quality checks to ensure Company signage is printed in accordance with customer specifications and internal standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (include But Are Not Limited To)
Receive data files/images from Graphic Design Department and complete requisite setup for printing activities
Start presses and pull proofs to check for ink coverage and density, alignment, and registration
Monitor ongoing printing activity and spot check to ensure quality finished printed products/no malfunctions/defects through the printing process
Run finishing machinery including Gerber MCT cutter, vinyl plotter, Zund sign plotter, and other specific finishing activities
Review work orders to determine product specifications, materials and quantity requirements, and variation requests to accommodate
Work/interact with Manager and Graphics Project Managers to ensure deadlines are met
Conduct routine maintenance on department machines
Work safely & ensure coworkers are doing the same, per Company policy
Inspect finished goods for defects and advise Management of issues
Safely, precisely, and quickly cut, shape, and trim fabric and vinyl printed elements using an array of handtools and other cutting equipment.
Assemble graphic visual frames and other plastic elements related to the Company’s graphics product line.
Complete grommeting, and other specific finishing activities.
Prepare items for shipment to customers including organizing them, labeling them, loading them and building crates.
Safely lift and move a variety of raw materials and/or finished company products to facilitate transportation to customer sites, both manually and with hand operated moving tools/equipment.

Strong attention to detail and a meticulous approach to work
Effective communication skills, both written and oral
Detailed, with excellent time management and organizational skills
Basic math skills and the ability to read a tape measure
The ability to receive and apply direction/instruction and then work autonomously towards the completion of job activities
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (include But Are Not Limited To)
Heavy lifting of awkwardly shaped graphic products & printer components
The ability to regularly bend and stoop to monitor printing activities
Extended periods on feet, walking between printers
The ability to safely use a wide range of hand cutting tools/machines.
Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
2+ years demonstrated successful experience as a Press Operator or similar position
High school diploma or equivalent
The ability to use large scale commercial graphic printers and conduct regular maintenance
The ability to safely & efficiently lift heavy objects up to 75 lbs.
Demonstrated successful experience in a position requiring both strong attention to detail, manual dexterity and time management.
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years relevant experience as a Press Operator or in a similar position
1+ years e
relevant experience in sign manufacturing/ finishing.
Caldera Rip & Color management software
Familiar with HP latex & HP dye sub equipment/ software interface
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Exposure to the smell of industrial printing/ink and related materials
Exposure to the sounds of a variety of large scale printers and hand cutting tools (saws, etc.)
Exposure to building materials and saw dust created in millwork production.
