Principal Technical Writer

Job Description

• 10+ years of experience creating high-quality documentation in the area of Enterprise Software including conceptual decomposition of aspects such as Organization, Processes and Architecture/Technology/Hosting.
• Experienced in distilling Technical SME (Subject Matter Experts) Interviews, Diagrams and/or documentation into high-quality content (writings and diagrams) that are understandable/consumable by wider audiences.
• Experienced in publishing high-quality documentation regarding Enterprise Software via publicly available internet channels.
• Experience in creating high-quality Multimedia forms (e.g. tech-talk video) of technical decompositions including recording session design/scripting, recording software/hardware tools/setup, editing/mixdown tools/processes and publishing via publicly available internet channels.

Job Responsibilities

• Understanding and ability to conceptually articulate aspects of Enterprise Systems including elements such as Business Value, Organization, Development and Operational.
• Understanding and ability to conceptually articulate aspects of Enterprise Architecture including elements such as Microservices, Big Data, IoT and DevOps/CICD.
• Understanding and ability to conceptually articulate aspects of Cloud Hosting including elements such as Native/Marketplace PaaS, Compute, Storage, IaC (Infrastructure as Code) and global hosting Regions/Availability Zones.
• Understanding and ability to conceptually articulate aspects of NFRs (Non Functional Requirements) including High Availability, Disaster Recovery and Observability.
• Understanding and ability to conceptually articulate aspects of GenAI/AI/ML including elements such as RAG, LLMs, Prompts, MLOps, Content Engineering.
• Understanding and ability to conceptually articulate aspects of Big Data including elements such as Ingestion, Batch/Stream Processing, Polyglot Storage, Data Quality, Data Warehouse, Master Data Management, Data Access Interfaces, Business Intelligence and Data Science.
• Understanding and ability to conceptually articulate aspects of Security including elements such as IAM, RBAC, AuthN/AuthZ, Access Controls, Endpoint Security, Encryption, Vault, App/Vuln/Pen Testing.
• Understanding and ability to conceptually articulate aspects of Data Governance including elements such as Data Catalog, IAM/Authentication, RBAC/Authorization, Data Rights/Licensing and Compliance/Privacy.

Project Description

• Technical Writer within the organization to be responsible for the creation of high-quality documentation content focused on the landscape of Enterprise Software Systems.
• The experience level for the Technical Writer role is considered as Principal or higher.
• The Technical Writer role is considered as fully hands-on in that the creation of high-quality content is the primary responsibility of the individual.
• The location of the Technical Writer role is North America with a mastery of US English written and verbal skills.
• The Technical Writer role is considered as mainly working remotely with possible occasional travel as needed.
