ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Principal Scientist will support the Chemistry and Regulatory Testing department for Juul Labs.
KEYRESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare various scientific documents in support of global regulatory filings, white papers, articles for publication, memoranda, and proposals
Extract and summarize scientific information from internal studies to identify details required for regulatory submissions
Verify completeness, clarity, accuracy, and quality of technical documents
Independently gather information from literature and subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write scientific manuscripts for publications
Edit and guide the writing of regulatory/scientific documents written by other team members
Write new and edit existing content by working closely with various departments to understand project requirement and established deadlines/milestones
Train and mentor junior scientist and research associates
Perform other related duties as assigned
PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a lead writer in preparing key technical documentation
Experience with nicotine related products, consumer goods, pharmaceutical and/or medical device
Familiarity with regulatory requirements from agencies including but not limited to, the Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Health Canada (HC), Medicines and Healthcare product Regulatory Agency (MHRA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
Excellent written and oral communication skills including grammatical/technical writing skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to integrate, interpret, and summarize data from a variety of sources in a clear and concise manner
Experience in aerosol analytical chemistry is preferred but not required
Strong problem-solving skills
High motivation and flexibility
EDUCATION:
BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Toxicology, or related field. MS or PhD preferred

SALARY RANGES:
Salary varies by role, level and location, and is dependent on the cost of labor in a given
geographic region among other factors. These ranges may be modified at any time.
