Responsibilities

To help us meet our mission LOTTE BIOLOGICS is in need of a new Principal Scientist Antibody Drug Conjugate and Purification Development to lead the process development and production of ADCs as part of a multi-disciplinary team to advance ADC development and provide on-floor GMP support of manufacturing. The ADC Principal Scientist will also support development of the facility and laboratory design, build out, start-up, and technical process transfer of the ADC process from laboratory to manufacturing for ADCs and other large molecule bioconjugates for various therapeutic areas. In this critical role you will;

• drive the CMC elements related to bioconjugation throughout the product life cycle using technical expertise in conjugation chemistry and downstream unit operations including tangential flow filtration, dead-end filtration, and protein chromatography
• lead the design and execution of laboratory experiments in the development, optimization, and characterization of ADCs
• leverage direct experience designing and implementing experiments to evaluate purification and bioconjugation processes for ADCs in order to l ead development, execution, and technology transfer of purification and bioconjugation processes
• Develop, optimize, plan, and lead characterization of purification processes for antibodies and novel bioconjugation methodologies to improve antibody drug conjugates including High Throughput Screening methods for purification development
• bring biologics from Phase I through commercial, including experience in late-stage activities such as CMC risk assessments, process characterization, and process validation, and provide technical experience for on-floor support for production of GMP antibody and ADC batches
  
  

It’s important to note that during facility build and start-up phases, the ADC Principal Scientist will serve as an individual contributor but will transition to lead a team of scientists and engineers.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role the Principal Scientist Antibody Drug Conjugate and Purification Development must have the demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following;

• Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent area working in biologics downstream manufacturing or manufacturing technology : B.Sc/B.Eng degree with 9 years, M.Sc/M.Eng degree with 6 years, or Ph.D degree with 4 years of relevant industry experience
• Experience with ADC chemistry, conjugation chemistry, reaction processes and purification process development and d emonstrated hands-on experience in the generation of antibody drug conjugates
• Hands-on experience and knowledge of protein purification and characterization using centrifugation, chromatography, normal-flow filtration, and tangential-flow filtration, as well as analytical techniques like Hydrophobic Interaction Chromatography (HIC)-HPLC, Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC), Liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC-MS), Ion-Exchange (IEX), Reversed Phase (RP)-HPLC, routine DNA/RNA techniques, protein expression and purification, sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometry, and high-performance liquid chromatography
• Experience working with Contract Development Manufacturing Organizations (CDMOs) is preferred
