Job Summary:

The Principal IT Business Analyst provides leadership on business analysis and strategic direction. Leads identification, planning of activities of business change to manage interdependencies in support of strategic goals. Implements complex projects. Coaches the development of staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership, expertise and guidance on strategic business change projects.
  • Provides business analysis on projects including engagement and stakeholder management.
  • Leads business change and defines business requirements and processes on projects.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification is preferred

  • Business Knowledge (Advanced): Demonstrates the ability to apply diverse areas of business knowledge to successfully meet broad work objectives. Knowledgeable, in detail, of the major functions of the primary business units of the company. Able to converse intelligently with users, customers, and management on the impact of technology and competition on the business itself. Capable of discerning the impact of subtle changes in competition and technology. Demonstrates excellent business acumen.
  • Business Requirements Definition (Advanced): Demonstrates the uppermost levels of expertise in developing and analyzing Business Requirements Definitions in challenging and complex situations. Able to identify potential problems through expert analysis and develop intricate test cases to assure effective testing of the application. Often takes a lead role in highly pressurized situations when there is a need to achieve results. Consistently delivers Business Requirements Definitions in a creative and imaginative manner while setting a standard for others. Contributes in the development of best practices for the organization.
  • Feasibility/Cost/Benefits Analysis (Advanced): Has coordinated the development and preparation of a major feasibility study or cost/benefit analysis. Has educated analysts in the techniques and contents of feasibility studies and cost/benefit analyses. Has planned and led analysis steps, and presented findings to senior management.
  • Business Analysis (Advanced): Experienced in requirements planning and management involving planning the requirements development process, determining which requirements are the highest priority for implementation, and managing change. Helps plan the requirements development process, determining which requirements are the highest priority for implementation, and managing change. Verifies the correctness of a proposed solution, how to support the implementation of a solution, and how to assess possible shortcomings in the implementation. Takes a lead role in business process improvement and business process reengineering tasks.
