The Opportunity: Drayton is looking to add a full-time Principal, Head of Archaeology (Principal) to our growing team in northern Washington. This position may be based anywhere in Whatcom, Skagit, or Snohomish County (our office is in Blaine, WA).
In this role, you will be accountable for overseeing all phases of project management, starting from proposal to final close-out. Additionally, you will play a vital part in guiding and mentoring the staff. You will also have the chance to boost our market share by cultivating relationships with existing as well as potential clients.
Job duties include:
Responsible for the implementation of proposals, budgets, and schedules.
Supervise project staff and project logistics.
Coordinate communication and project deliverables between clients, DAHP, Tribal representatives, state and federal agencies, and coworkers.
Oversee and act as the lead archaeological expert on all projects, permits, IDPs, and related work.
Build relationships with current and potential clients and vendors.
Oversee the processing and cataloging of artifacts and other materials according to lab specifications.
Help develop and lead our team of archaeologists.
Qualifications include:
Accredited as a Registered Professional Archaeologist (preferred).
A master's degree or Ph.D. in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related field.
Minimum of five years of CRM experience, with at least two years in the Pacific Northwest.
Minimum of 2 years of experience preparing proposals
Minimum of 2 years of experience effectively developing and implementing project budgets, supervising project staff, and delivering high-quality deliverables
Must be an expert in local, state, and federal cultural resources laws and regulations.
Experienced in writing and reviewing technical archaeological reports.
The salary range for this position is $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year (base plus performance bonuses).
