Pricing Strategy Manager

As the Pricing Strategic Manager, you play a pivotal role in shaping the pricing landscape for the organization. Your responsibilities involve providing input to the pricing systems and enhancements, all while aligning with global strategies and the overarching pricing vision. You will have the opportunity to shape the company’s competitive edge through smart pricing decisions.


Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Collaboration Across Departments:

  • Maintain active communication with various departments, including sales, legal, finance, distribution, customer service, and quality/regulatory teams.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration to ensure cohesive pricing strategies.
  • Delegate team members to best suited tasks to efficiently tackle presented opportunities.
  • Support sales/commercial team members in pursuit of new business through competitive pricing and high levels of service.
  • Work with other team leaders to maintain smooth transitions between departments and ensure new opportunities are executed sufficiently.


2. Client Relationships

  • Communicate with new clients as first point of contact to anticipate operational and service needs.
  • Follow up with clients for feedback on quotes, assist in creating new business opportunities, and build relationships that turn new accounts into legacy accounts.
  • Ensure the pricing team turns around new quote opportunities in a timely manner to make solid impressions on new clients.


3. Pricing System Development:

  • Guide and assist in compiling competitive rates for new business opportunities quickly in both domestic and international sectors.
  • Contribute to the development of new pricing systems and enhancements.
  • Participate in annual rate setting and exception rate review processes.
  • Manage and generate data that reflects historical context, profitability, win/loss ratios, and areas that need improvement, analyzing return on strategic investments, profitability, and other key metrics.


4. Contract and Rebate Programs:

  • Negotiate rates with partners, maintain budgets, and arrange operational options that meet budgets and service needs.
  • Partner with National Accounts and Sales Managers to design financially beneficial contract and rebate programs.
  • Review, edit, and create original proposals and sales-related documents.
  • Direct and assist in creating full RFPs/RFQs for domestic/international special projects or long-term business agreements.


Qualifications:


Education:

  • A relevant degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in fields such as Finance, Business, MBA, Marketing, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or Management is preferred.


Skills:

  • Financial analysis and pricing systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications and ERP systems.
  • Ability to integrate information across various fields.


Desired Experience:

  • Previous experience in pricing strategy, financial evaluation, and market-based segmentation.
  • Familiarity with intelligence collection processes to achieve reliable outcomes.
