About The Position

Responsible for managing a team that oversees the data analytics to audit and analyze suppliers, and customer master data to maximize the profitability and effectiveness of the Company's pricing process. Works closely with key distributors, manufacturers, and the Procurement Team to ensure pricing efficiency and overall profitability based on goods purchased to complete projects. Ensures compliance with pricing, databases, and rebate programs. This position manages the day-to-day pricing activities and drives the Company's pricing process through analysis, implementation, and training, all in coordination with the Company's mission, brand, vision, and code of conduct/ethical business practices, and in alignment with all Company policies, procedures, key objectives, and regulations..

Day in the life

  • Develops and champions Company goals, processes, and strategies of the Pricing team. Partners with senior management and other Company marketing, operations, and business development personnel to understand key Company-wide objectives, strategies, priorities, and client relationship work.
  • Provides day-to-day management for the Company's Pricing department. Leads, manages, and trains a diverse team of pricing professionals.
  • Benchmarks with other business leaders to ensure consistent work standards, strategic goals and objectives, and policies and procedures are created and maintained for pricing management. Maintains confidentiality of material quotes and product/vendor pricing information. Implements process improvements.
  • Creates and maintains pricing agreements, catalogs, and databases, and supports project teams and individual business units with pricing analyses, providing analytical support as needed. Measures and monitors results from strategic and tactical pricing decisions.
  • Monitors and resolves Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and non-EDI supplier pricing agreements through the reconciliation process. Presents critical report results, strategies, and proposals to Company leadership.
  • Leads the team in the interpretation, development, and negotiations of contractual pricing agreements. Utilizes working knowledge of reviewing profitability to inform leadership regarding material master data and cost issues that are impacting competitiveness and cost recovery.
  • Collaborates with the Procurement team to maintain accurate vendor pricing for all products. Routinely analyzes supplier pricing data against contract agreements and competitor pricing to ensure consistency.
  • Teaches and enhances analytical strategies to develop and negotiate rate increases for customers and partners. Reviews and imports cost data, ensuring that data is accurate and uploaded into the Procurement system accurately and on time.
  • Identifies and resolves pricing and rebate issues, establishes rebate and pricing strategies, prepares monthly summary reports and reports on other critical data as needed. Grows and maintains strong, professional relationships with external vendors.
  • Provides regular communications, mentoring, coaching, problem-solving and training to staff and other co-workers at all levels as needed. Advises and coaches employees and provides performance feedback regularly.
  • Consistently makes decisions in an attentive and safe manner to ensure the safety and health of self and others.
  • Utilizes LEAN concepts or other continuous improvement methodologies to ensure the most efficient operations, processes, and activities.
  • Promotes and models the Company mission, vision and values through exercising sound and ethical business practices, championing all elements of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and providing high quality services and programs as they relate to clients, subcontractors, co-workers, suppliers, and the public.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in engineering, business administration, supply chain, data analytics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience working with order entry, sales orders, debit/credit memos, purchasing, pricing and customer master data or data analytics. Minimum 3 years of experience directly managing people.
  • In-depth experience making data-driven decisions, enhancing tools and processes, and leading by example. Comfortable extracting the 'story' told by data. Experience using Procure-to-Pay solutions, preferably INRS.
  • In-depth training and experience with LEAN methodologies and/or similar applications. Strong process orientation.
  • Strong business acumen and experience collaborating with senior leaders in a high growth, process-oriented business setting. Superior research skills to make high quality pricing decisions. Experience and skills working closely with proprietary information and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Excellent financial acumen, analytical and mathematical skills. Strong critical thinking skills. Highly proficient in mathematics and data analysis via Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, formulas, etc.) and database management.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and team leadership skills. Demonstrated history of excellent presentation, influencing, conflict management and persuasion skills, and the ability to effectively collaborate and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent planning, problem-solving, customer-focus, and decision-making skills. Exceptionally strong attention to detail and the drive to ensure maximum quality of work throughout the lifecycle of a project. Strong organizational skills and a prominent level of integrity and dependability.
  • Exceptional listening, negotiation, and ability to influence employees at all levels. Solid business development and client communication skills and a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships at all levels and with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and other community leaders.
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills, including high quality documentation and report preparation.
  • Strong leadership, hiring, collaboration, teamwork, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with and facilitate highly engaged, diverse work teams. Exceptional ability to coach, mentor, motivate and develop front line management.
