Founded in Chicago in 1986, BluBlocker Sunglasses made history with a revolutionary lens that reduced brightness while increasing contrast and visibility, using the same groundbreaking technology originally developed for NASA to block harmful UV rays and blue light during space travel. With its unmistakable styling and brand ambassadors like pro athletes Jim McMahon and Keith Hernandez, BluBlocker became a household name in just a few short years. In the decades since, BluBlocker has also been featured as part of film costuming, in Hollywood hits like The Hangover (2009) and cult classics like Kingdom (2014), and Ryan Gosling’s The Fall Guy (2024). Part of the cultural zeitgeist since its inception, BluBlocker has captured the imagination of many and developed a cult following across the world. Today, BluBlocker is primarily an e-commerce business, continually innovating to provide best in class eyewear to our growing customer base.


About the Job:

This is an opportunity to take the reins and lead a successful e-commerce sunglasses business. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of BluBlocker, with responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Grow, develop and manage your team at BluBlocker.
  • Direct product and marketing strategy: Develop & implement effective strategies to enhance product offerings and marketing initiatives.
  • Maintain key vendor relationships: Establish and sustain productive relationships with vendors to ensure smooth business operations.
  • Drive results across the business: Set and achieve ambitious goals to drive growth, profitability and overall business success.
  • Spearhead international expansion in Europe and Australia.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to expand BluBlockers market presence, sales volume, and profitability.  
  • Monitor and respond to market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to stay ahead in the industry.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and uphold the highest standards of business ethics and practices.
  • Protect intellectual property.

Experience/Education requirements

  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years’ experience within the e-commerce industry including proven experience in a leadership role.
  • Experience in the fashion, apparel, or sunglasses industry
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.


Compensation: 

We do offer a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience, including beginning salary of $100,000 - $150,000, bonus opportunities, and benefits. Details will be discussed in more detail during the interview process.
