Compensation: $53,000 – $56,000 annual
Status: Full-time, salaried position

Position Overview
Northwestern University Settlement seeks a dedicated professional with an appreciation for its mission. The Preschool Teacher is responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of the education component that is designed to meet the needs of each individual child enrolled in accordance to the Head Start Program Performance Standards, NAEYC Standards, and Chicago Early Learning.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. We offer a robust health benefit package. In addition, all staff are equipped with the tools needed to succeed, including a dedicated work space, laptop, email, high-speed internet access, and all necessary supplies.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Create and maintain an environment that promotes trust, respect, and safety of children, staff, and parents
- Prepare and implement lesson plans that encompass the intellectual, social, emotional and physical growth of all children
- Supervise, monitor, coach, and evaluate assistant teachers, volunteers, and student teachers
- Oversee, instruct, monitor and evaluate outputs that result in the achievement of program outcomes as outlined in the program
- Maintain records of child observations and evaluations; consult with Education Coordinator as needed
- Establish effective relationships with parents including Parent/Teacher Conferences and on individual basis as needed.
- Oversee room arrangements and classroom equipment
- Other duties as assigned by Intake Specialist & Director of ECE
- BA Degree in Early Childhood Development Education
- Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Professional Educator License (PEL)
- English as a Second Language (ESL) Endorsement preferred
- Gateways to Opportunity Level 5 ECE Credential
- Two to five years of experience in teaching preschool children
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- First Aid/CPR Certificate compliance or completion within the first year of employment
- Flexible work schedule
