Job Summary

Under supervision of the Early Childhood Education Department’s Manager, the Preschool Educator, which encompasses Associate Teachers, Teachers and other Early Education personnel, will facilitate healthy parent-child attachment and relationship building, provide or arrange for comprehensive Head Start services for assigned families of preschool children served in home-based options, as defined by the Head Start Performance Standards. The Teacher will implement and oversee all components of an infant/toddler program by contributing to the success of the teaching team and adhering to all policies and procedures, while working to maintain compliance with all licensing and funding regulations.

Education

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The teacher should have an AA degree in Child Development or related field; Bachelor’s preferred.
  • The teacher should have a valid Child Development Teacher Permit is required for Early Head Start/Head Start classrooms.
  • The teacher should have three Infant/Toddler units are required if the teacher is working with children birth to three; six units of Infant/Toddler Development units is preferred.

Experience

Two years of relevant experience teaching/working with children (ages 0 to 5) and families .
