Position Summary

A Pre-Press Operator does pre-press preparation work including platemaking, computer operation, and color proofing. MAC-Based is a must. Reviews electronic files that are received from customers and check them for thoroughness and completeness in advance of the plate making process.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Knowlege of printing process (presses, bindery and outsourcing)
  • Fluent using the primary Adobe software and Kodak Prinergy products
  • Knowledgeable using different type fonts
  • Design/Creative background
  • Prepare and send proofs to customers for approval.
  • Perform plate making as needed.
  • Update and file specifications as needed.
  • Keeps work area neat and clean.
  • Meets all defined departmental standards for quality, productivity, efficiency, and waste.
  • Complies with all safety and health policies, procedures, and practices; actively supports safety improvement initiatives; uses materials and equipment in an appropriate and safe manner; carries out all tasks in a manner to not create a hazard to oneself or others.
  • Supports organizational goals and values.
  • Performs other duties as required.

The physical environment requires the employee to work inside in heat/cold conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. May be required to work overtime.
