CBR is looking for a PR Coordinator to join our team! CBR is the oldest and most respected comic book culture website in the world. It is the internet’s first and final stop for nerd culture, news, commentary and community.

Responsibilities:
Develop and execute comprehensive PR strategies in coordination with our social team to enhance CBR’s brand visibility
Cultivate and maintain relationships with press contacts to secure interviews with top entertainment talent
Manage media inquiries and proactively pitch CBR to relevant outlets for sponsorship deals
Seek out valuable review opportunities for CBR content and collaborate with the Managing Editor, MTV Deputy Editor, and CAMG Deputy Editor to ensure embargoes are strictly adhered to
Secure screeners, authority content exclusives and timely material
Take ownership of CBR’s brand equity and perception, ensuring consistency in messaging across all channels
Monitor social channels and peer outlets for references to/mentions of CBR and take actionable measures as necessary, such as requesting backlinks
PR, Planning & Outreach
Act as CBR’s PR lead and point of contact
Pre-plans and helps reach out in advance for all upcoming projects (all TV/Movies/Anime/Gaming & Comics) for interview/review opportunities, etc.
Establish and utilize sharing processes for our exclusive content with Valnet sister sites
Create mail list for colleagues/competitors/influencer friends to share major exclusives, features, and interviews
Lead, organize, and oversee events coverage. This includes in person convention coverage, awards shows, etc.
Publishing Expansion & Optimization
Ensure video assets are sent to the video editor with specifics
Coordinate with both the social and video team for post on Twitter/Insta/Facebook
Update key related content with links to our exclusive content & interviews
Branding & Growth
Keeping a finger on the pulse to know whether we are a positive and important part of the conversation online
Keeping an eye on the conversation surrounding CBR’s brand online
Ensure we are getting access from all necessary studios or projects we want to cover
Requirements
Previous experience working in the PR field
Established list of PR contacts
Experience in working with Publishing
Strong knowledge of pop culture
Highly favorable problem-solving and organizational skills
