Power Plant Operator

Currently Seeking a Power Plant Operator for Connecticut Powerhouse!

Position Summary:

The Power Plant Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment within the powerhouse, including gas turbine, HRSG units, package boilers, and large air compressors. This role requires an understanding of power plant operations and a high level of safety compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor gas turbine, HRSG units, package boilers, and air compressors to ensure continuous and efficient power generation and steam supply.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify and address any potential issues or malfunctions.
• Perform installation, overhaul, repair, and preventive maintenance tasks on equipment according to established schedules.
• Respond promptly to alarms and abnormal operating conditions, taking corrective actions as necessary.
• Coordinate with maintenance personnel for repairs and upgrades as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Maintain accurate records of plant operations, including equipment performance & and maintenance activities.
• Participate in training programs to stay current on industry standards and best practices.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years of powerhouse equipment operation experience (gas turbine, cooling towers, water treatment, steam generators, distribution systems, air compressors, etc.)
• Boiler operation experience
• Ability to obtain a Connecticut State Operating Engineer (OE-2) License
• Knowledge of control systems (SCADA, PLC, DCS, etc.) is a plus!
