Position Highlights

The laboratory of Dr. Lurdes Queimado at the at Oklahoma University Health Sciences Center is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow or Associate Research Scholar with a passion for cancer research to investigate the impact of tobacco products and cannabis on cancer risk and therapy outcomes. Specific areas of interest include DNA damage, inflammation, and mechanisms of therapy resistance. We are a translational interdisciplinary team. Strong preference will be given to individuals with outstanding publications from prior graduate and/or postgraduate training and/or existing external funding.

Qualifications

  • A recent PhD in Molecular Biology, Oncobiology, Biochemistry, or similar field.
  • Ability to teach and mentor graduate and undergraduate students in research techniques and scientific communication.
  • Excellence in scholarly publications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Responsibilities

  • Independently drive projects and develop innovative research ideas.
  • Design and execute experiments. Perform data analysis
  • Collaborate effectively with diverse team members, including students, technicians, and clinical staff.
  • Read and stay updated with recent publications and write manuscripts and fellowship applications.
  • Present their research at national and international meetings.
