The Research Department at Rodale Institute (Kutztown, PA) is currently inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position. The primary role responsibility of this role is to analyze and prepare peer-reviewed journal articles utilizing multi-year data collected from a long-term Vegetable Systems Trial (VST) and other multidisciplinary projects.
We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral research associate to conduct data analysis and publish results aimed at assessing the long-term effects of management practices on soil health and nutrient quality in vegetable crops. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute and assist with field, laboratory, and greenhouse research trials. They will be responsible for collecting and organizing data for publication, presenting research findings at national conferences, and contributing to grant proposal writing. This is a two-year grant funded position.
Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Soil Science, Horticulture, Agronomy, or a related discipline
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, with strong interpersonal abilities to communicate effectively cross-culturally.
Excellent organizational skills
Demonstrated track record of research productivity and publications in high-impact peer-reviewed journals
Proficiency in SAS (preferably), R, or Python and multivariate analyses.
Strong understanding of Principal Component Analysis (PCA) techniques and their application in data analysis and dimensionality reduction
Experience presenting research findings at national conferences.
Ability to contribute to research projects focusing on the relationship between soil health, vegetable crop production, and human health
Willingness and capability to work in diverse environmental conditions
Preferred qualifications: Previous research and analytical experience in soil and field-grown vegetable cropping systems, along with proficiency in publishing high impact peer-reviewed journal articles.
Travel: Some regional and national travel is required for data collection and presentations.
Salary and Benefits: This position is a grant funded and eligible for full benefits, salary range of $50,000 to $55,000 based on experience.
