Work Environment
Vouch operates as a Virtual First Workplace with office locations in San Francisco, Chicago, and New York City. This role offers remote flexibility, allowing you to work from anywhere in the U.S. as long as you're available during our core collaboration hours (8:30 am-2:30 pm Pacific Time) for internal meetings.
Role Overview
We're seeking a dynamic, goal-oriented Portfolio Underwriting Manager with expertise in professional and/or management liability lines. In this role, you'll drive profitable growth within our innovation-focused insurance portfolios. Reporting to Vouch's Head of Underwriting, you'll lead a team, shape strategic portfolio management outcomes, underwrite complex accounts, and continuously enhance underwriting efficiency and effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Develop and implement an effective portfolio management framework, providing actionable insights to inform underwriting strategy adjustments.
Ensure target Gross Written Premium (GWP) and loss ratios are met for managed portfolios.
Collaborate closely with sales and product development teams to understand customer needs and offer creative underwriting solutions.
Drive process standardization and propose underwriting decision-making improvements.
Share expertise through client communication, training opportunities, and external engagements.
Requirements
10+ years of Underwriting experience, with 5+ years in Fintech / Financial Institutions Management and Professional Liability Lines.
Strong leadership, management, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to drive creative and innovative solutions with a focus on customer and profitability.
Excellent interpersonal skills and relationship-building abilities.

Salary Range
$130,000 to $200,000 per year, inclusive of multiple levels and based on relevant experience. Additionally, all roles include stock options as part of the compensation package.
