We're currently seeking a passionate and proactive individual to join us as a Policy and Projects Analyst in the Office of Human Research Protection Program (OHRPP).
Position Overview
As a Policy and Projects Analyst, you'll play a pivotal role in managing policies and driving strategic projects within the OHRPP at UCLA. You'll collaborate with a team of human research protection professionals to ensure the ethical treatment of all human subjects involved in research conducted at UCLA.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and evaluate human subject protection policies and procedures for the UCLA research community.
Analyze and enhance the online submission and tracking system for research protocols.
Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of AAHRPP re-accreditation efforts.
Drive strategic projects as assigned, contributing to the continuous improvement of research processes.
Provide backup support for various functions within the OHRPP as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum of 6 years of experience in Research Administration, preferably at a major research university with a medical enterprise.
Advanced understanding of ethical principles and regulatory requirements governing human research participants.
Familiarity with AAHRPP Accreditation Standards is preferred.
Proficiency in managing the IRB review process and maintaining Certified IRB Professional status.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders in a professional and service-oriented manner.
Strong technical aptitude, including familiarity with electronic IRB review systems.
Education And Certifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (life, physical, or social science, or education) required.
Advanced degree in science highly preferred.
Certified IRB Professional status required, or willingness to achieve within 3 years.
Special Conditions For Employment
Satisfactory background investigation required for continued employment.
Live Scan background check must be completed prior to the start of employment.
Schedule
Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Pacific Standard Time.
