WHEDA is seeking a Policy Analyst to join our Commercial Lending Department in our Madison facility. The position of Policy Analyst is responsible for in support of the administration of multifamily financing programs including the Housing Tax Credit program. The Policy Analyst reports to the Manager of Commercial Policy and Strategy and collaborates with all members of the Commercial Lending department

  • Conduct policy analysis, review policy documents (regulations, guidance, legislation); synthesize complex information on policies, programs, practices, and outcomes and create clear, actionable fact sheets, policy briefs, presentations, and other documents.
  • Support development and implementation of processes related to the administration of multifamily financing products including the housing Tax Credit program in collaboration with the Manager of Commercial Policy and Strategy.
  • Create and maintain current policies, procedures, and program documents needed for internal and external product administration needs. Identify and implement process improvements.
  • Respond to eternal inquiries; assist in communications with stakeholders to answer questions, maintain record keeping of guidance, and provide limited technical assistance to program participants.
  • Develop and maintain current knowledge of industry issues and best practices. Work to identify potential opportunities for program improvements.
  • Performs or assists with other duties as assigned.

Hiring Range for this position is from $55,987 to $68,798 Annually. Offered Salary will be based on qualifications and internal pay equity.

  • Proven experience in program coordination
  • Adequate knowledge of multifamily and economic development product lines, including frequently used affordable housing finance products
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Attention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot for process improvement
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Successful prioritizing and management of work projects
  • Maintains confidentiality related to internal/ external customers and any other information obtained in this role
  • Undergraduate degree in business, real estate, finance, or a related field AND one to three years’ experience in program coordination OR an equivalent combination education and experience
  • Valid Driver’s License preferred.
