The Disney Studios Digital Marketing Production Team is seeking an Audio Producer who will be integral to the operation and development of the audio component of its podcast business. This New York-based production team is tasked with the creation of audio content, from promotional material to original entertainment that will be distributed on all key Marvel and podcast platforms. We’re looking for a candidate who is enthusiastic about inviting both long-time and new fans into the world of Marvel.
This role will sit within the Audio Production team, and will be primarily responsible for the day-to-day assignments and operations of our weekly podcast. Occasionally this role may be asked to help with other projects in support of the larger Production team.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the growth, operation, and consistent quality of Marvel’s weekly non-fiction podcast series
Work with multiple lines of business in a corporate environment; creatively align with marketing initiatives and support company goals
Write scripts for editorial content assigned by senior management
Research, book, and communicate with appropriate guests for audio content
Edit and sound design audio in a collaborative environment
Consult on the construction and maintenance of in-house creative space
Train and work with hosts and producers with research and interview prep
Source and train external freelancers, including, but not limited to, mixers, tape-syncers, etc.
Oversee recordings in-studio and in the field if necessary
Archive and organize raw and edited audio files
Maintain confidentiality around Marvel IP, guests, and sensitive content
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of audio industry experience
Strong audio editing, script writing, and research skills
Proven track record of building and growing successful podcasts
Mastery of Pro Tools, iZotope software, and studio, field and post-production audio work
Strong communication skills, extreme attention to detail and the ability to multi-task several projects at once
Comfortable with both giving and receiving feedback on creative work
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while remaining composed and productive
Ability to work independently within a collaborative team setting
Ability to effectively communicate and interact with people at various levels of production
Preferred Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of the Marvel brand and its characters
Experience creating content around an established brand
Thorough understanding of the podcast industry, techniques and trends
Experience converting marketing objectives into engaging content
Participation and/or understanding of fandom audiences and communities
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree (Music/TV/Film/Journalism or related field) or equivalent work experience
The hiring range for this position in New York is $94,800 to $130,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
