Summary

Oversees the daily operations of the fertilizer plant to maintain safety, accuracy and efficiency standards

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned

  • Responsible for all daily plant shut-down procedures
  • Schedules efficient delivery of fertilizers
  • Delivers, loads and unloads liquid and dry fertilizer, chemicals and seed
  • May be required to operate forklift to assist in loading and unloading products
  • Develops and implements preventive maintenance program for facilities and plants
  • Performs winter maintenance on equipment used by the department
  • May pull trailer using single-axle or semi-truck loaded with fertilizer, following all safety standards of the company and applicable laws
  • Performs any actions necessary to fulfill the strategic plan of the division and assure the success of the company

Supervisory Responsibilities

Oversees a crew of 6 to 10 employees and the day to day operations of the crop production facility.

Qualifications

Strong communication skills a must.

A good eye for good housekeeping and safety
