Plant Manager

The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing all plant and process manufacturing operations Reporting to the Director of Operations, this role will manage assigned plant staff and performance The Plant Manager will work closely with plant staff, engineering, finance and accounting, product development, sales and marketing, supply chain/planning/transportation, procurement, and community relations organizations This person will have 7 direct reports, supporting 280 employees across the facility Responsibilities include facilitating and assisting with all staff management, mentoring, and development In addition, this individual will facilitate the buildout and implementation of plant manufacturing strategies, policies, and procedures He/She will coordinate all plant systems and resources in order to optimize the organization's goals, maximize plant efficiency, and maintain related plant finances The ideal candidate will be a team builder and servant leader a champion of bridging both relational development and business acumen/accountability.

Functional Experience, Skills and Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field, or experience with a track record of success in Plant Operations

• 7 years of plant processing/manufacturing and/or food manufacturing experience

• Union experience highly preferred

• Extensive experience managing multiple departments/plants/processes

• HACCP training and certification is preferred

• GFSI background or equivalent is preferred

• Occasionally travels, including overnight stays, to other worksites, for off-site meetings, and for training purposes

• Types of exposures encountered on the job Frequently has exposures to loud machine/equipment noise and occasionally has exposures to toxic or caustic chemicals, odors or fumes, and/or extreme heat/cold temperatures
