Job Description

DUTIES: This Plant Manager will Managers this 100 person resin plant will 4 managers reporting to this person and will report to the VP. This person will be able to create the template for how the plant will operate with programs related to Process Safety, Lean Manufacturing and Maintenance will. Will drive culture change and getting the plant to buy in on Safety and Lean Manufacturing programs.

Under thedirectionoftheVP&GMofSpecialty Resins,thePlant Manager isresponsible foreffectively planning, directing, andcoordinating allactivities oftheplantoperations. Responsibilitiesincludesafety, environmental,quality, production, reliability, utilities and cost control.

ESSENTIALDUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIESincludethefollowing.Otherdutiesmaybeassigned.

Providesthedirectionandnecessaryresourcestoestablishsafetyandenvironmental performance that meets the goals established forthe plant.This includes development of the proper behavior and attitudes to guarantee excellent performance.

Developsandimplementsplanstoreduceenvironmentalwaste,meetapplicableenvironmental regulations, and handle emergency situations that may occur at thesite.

Develops aplant-operatingplanthatisconsistentwithandsupportsthebusinessplan.

Determines whatcompany resources arerequired tosuccessfully implement theplanandworkstoget those resources to assist the plant.

Activelysupportsthemanagersoftheproductlinesatthesitelocation.

Ensuresstandardsforproductquality,equipment andoperator performance aremaintained andthat cost-effective technology is used to maximize production.

Develops acapitalplanthatsupportsthebusinessstrategy andimproves plantoperations. Develops, monitors, and reports on operating costs within functional areas.

Developsemployees through trainingandinvolvement programs tocreateateamenvironment thathas decision-making authority throughoutthe organization.

Identifiesdevelopmentopportunitiesandprovidessubordinates opportunitiestomeettheircareer development plans.Creates bench strength for the plant and for the company.

Acts asachangeagentforthebusinessandcompany. Represents MSR to the external community.

Supervisoryresponsibilities

Manages 2-6subordinate managers who supervise atotal of90-110 employees atthesitefacility.Is responsible fortheoveralldirection,coordination, andevaluation oftheseunits.Carriesoutsupervisory responsibilities inaccordance with the organization's policies andapplicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance;rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints andresolving problems.

Marginaljobfunctions

Theemployeeisrequired todirectlyperformsomeofthedutiesofsubordinates asneededintheir absence.

EDUCATIONand/orEXPERIENCE

Bachelor of Science degree (B. S.)from four-year college or university withemphasis in chemistry or chemical engineering, production orindustrial management orotherrelatedfield,andaminimum often yearsprogressivelyresponsiblemanufacturing/plantmanagementexperience;orequivalentcombination ofeducationandexperience.Advancedbusinessdegreeaplus(MBA).Requiresthorough knowledgeof manufacturing operations and safety procedures, preferably in arefinery or chemical operation with a 24/7 operating cycle.Strong commitment to maintaining an environmentallysound and safe work environment.Belief that safety is number one. Ability toprovide leadership direction, coaching and mentoring to subordinates.

Languageskills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.Ability towritereports, business correspondence, and proceduremanuals.Abilitytoeffectively present information andrespondtoquestionsfromgroupsof managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Mathematicalskills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such asprobability and statistical inference, and fundamentals ofplaneandsolidgeometryandtrigonometry.Ability toapplyconceptssuchasfractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONINGABILITY

Abilitytosolvepractical problems anddealwithavarietyofconcretevariablesinsituationswhere only limited standardization exists. Ability tointerpret avariety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Strong troubleshootingability under multiple constraints is oftenrequired.

Abilitytoworkandmanageoperationsinafastpace,changingenvironment.Ability toeffectively lead and motivate subordinate personnel within ateam environment.Ability toutilize various computer wordprocessing andspreadsheet software applications.Ability tousevarious office machines such as computer and keyboard, phone, fax, photo copier, etc.Strong business acumen and understanding of cost drivers is required.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE: BS Chemical Engineer or related with 10-30 years of experience with 5 of that being in a Managerial role. They are reasonably open on industry but someone from a process that is relatively close to a Chemical Process. They keys will be someone who can drive a culture change and has experience in PSM, Maintenance and Lean Manufacturing. Looking for a strong leader
