 As our organization continues to grow across the United States , it is crucial that we hire the best talent and are currently seeking a Plant Manager for our Hollidaysburg, Pa location. 

This position will report directly to Kenny Flanders who has been promoted to Director of Operations, overseeing our facilities in Hollidaysburg, Pa. and Hockley, Tx. as well as our newly formed Mobile Repair Division.  Kenny's extensive experience and leadership will further strengthen our operations and service capabilities.

Job Reporting Relationships


           Supervised by:           Director of Operations


           Supervises:                 Mechanical/Paint/Cleaning/Final assembly 

                                                                                                                                                           


Basic Qualifications


Education/Training:  High School Diploma , Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration


Skill(s): 


Leadership capability to develop and execute a strategy for the operation, align supervisors/employees to it and drive implementation to achieve continuous improvement.


Ability to manage large diverse teams to ensure work processes and operations meet or exceed all requirements and business goals.


Ability to inspect, identify, and verify that plant operations and processes are implemented, performed, and completed in compliance with Industry, Company, and Customer requirements.


Industry knowledge of AAR and FRA rules, and Tank Car Maintenance Regulations; Knowledge of current regulatory requirements (e.g., AAR MSRP, M-1002, Section C, Part III, HM201); Knowledge of FRA regulations, preferred.


Experience: A minimum of five (5) years' experience in railcar mechanical, paint and linings and/or related positions normally required.

 

General Responsibilities


Responsible for performing a variety of duties to support customers and shop personnel, coordinating work within the department, as well as with other departments; reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responding to inquiries or requests for information.

Essential Duties


Meets with managers, supervisors, and department leads to review workload, status, and actions needed to meet departmental goals.


Provides oversight / supervision to managers and supervisors responsible for railcar repair, cleaning, paint, inspection, customer service, quality assurance and office support functions.                                                                                                             

                                                                                                                                                           

Evaluates performance of supervisors, providing regular feedback and coaching on objectives, performance, and improvements needed.


Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.


Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the company’s compliance with all regulatory requirements.


Directly supervises assigned personnel as follows:


a.  Assists in the selection of new personnel as appropriate.


b.  Makes provisions for the proper orientation and training of new personnel; trains new personnel as required.


c.  Reviews employee performance throughout their review period and on a regularly scheduled basis thereafter.


d.  Organizes, schedules, and distributes work among assigned personnel.


e.  Keeps personnel informed of pertinent policies and procedures affecting the department and/or their jobs; creates an atmosphere in which upward communication from employees is encouraged.


f.   Administers personnel policies and procedures as established by company policy.


Reviews and assesses the plant operation, workload, scheduled car flow and back log hours and ensures that location assets (e.g., people, processes, materials, measures, equipment, and conditions) are in place to meet efficiencies, productivity, and company goals.


Establishes strong relationships with customers and resolves customer inquiries and problems.


Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or requests from customers, other personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
