Piping Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Provide CNS, Mission Engineering with piping design engineering support for facility and production area activities in Cat 2 and Cat 3 facilities
• Provide design output documentation to support minor facility modifications. The types of design output documents typically developed by a piping design engineer within the Mission Engineering organization are drawings, engineering instructions, data sheets, equipment specifications, equivalency evaluations, calculations, etc
• Develop designs in accordance with ASME B31.3 and ASME B31.1
• Work with other engineering disciplines and other plant organizations to produce timely design output
• Perform field walk-downs and work in a production environment
  
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited school with a minimum of 5 years’ experience
• Requires an understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, Conduct of Maintenance for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment
• Familiarity with and experience in developing designs in accordance with ASME B31.3 and ASME B31.1
• Requires strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with various clients, production and support organizations, management, and hourly wage employees
• Must be US citizen
• Successful drug screening
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• 20 plus years of relevant professional experience
• A Professional Engineering License (PE)
• An Active Q Clearance
• Experience in an NRC or DOE regulated environment
