Shall perform musical accompaniment on the piano during weekly and special worship service to include warm-up, prelude, postlude, offertory, congregational hymn, and other music as selected during the worship hours. The candidate shall arrive 20 minutes prior to the scheduled service and remain throughout the entire service
Weekly Sunday Services: 0900-1030 on Sundays. Not to exceed 52 services
Weekly Rehearsals: 0800-0900 on Sundays or to be determined between the staff chaplain and the candidate. Not to exceed 1 hour each. Maximum 52 services
Special Services: To be determined between the staff chaplain and the candidate. Not to exceed 2 hour each. Maximum 10 services
Special Service Rehearsals: To be determined between the staff chaplain and the candidate. Not to exceed 1 hour each. Maximum 10 services
Education & Qualifications:
The Pianist shall be completed at least two (2) years studies/formal training as an Undergraduate Piano or Organ Performance Major
The Pianist shall have at least two (2) years of experience as a church or chapel musician in pianist service within the last five (5) years
The Pianist shall be able to sight read musical notes of hymns/music in the Armed Forces Hymnal and Hymnal utilized by assigned chapel and lead four (4) part harmony
The Pianist shall be able to communicate in English
The candidate shall present a neat, well-groomed appearance
The candidate will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and submit a proof of vaccination
