Job Summary

The Physician Liaison reports to Chief Ambulatory Officer and represents Grady Health System to outside physician practices in order to build strong relationships and referral patterns.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serves as primary contact and representative of Grady Health System to physician practices out of the system.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships between physicians practicing at Grady and healthcare networks in the Atlanta area, as well as referring physicians.
  • Conduct surveys and outreach to local primary and specialty physicians to boost the number of patient referrals into Grady.
  • Meets with medical practice managers and referring physicians to create a relationship with physicians of other specialties.
  • Arranges meetings and conferences to help specialty physicians and surgeons build relationship with referring physicians/providers.
  • Monitor and track referral loop closure and identify leakage points to ensure a seamless referral process and address any gaps.
  • Work closely with the marketing team on campaigns and strategies to promote Grady’s services and enhance referral rates.
  • Coordinate with department Referral Coordinators and Directors of Practice Administration to streamline and optimize referral processes.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for high-impact private medical practices, ensuring timely scheduling and providing excellent service for their patients.
  • Create and execute outreach programs aimed at educating and engaging referring physicians about Grady’s services and specialties.
  • Keep track of competitor activities and market trends to identify opportunities for Grady to differentiate its services and improve referral processes.
  • Organize and conduct educational sessions, lunch-and-learns, and workshops for referring physicians and their staff to keep them informed about new treatments and services offered at Grady.

Education

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, marketing, business, or a related field

Required:

Experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years of medical practice experience.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare liaison, sales, or marketing role, preferably within a hospital or healthcare system.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare operations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel frequently to physician offices, clinics, and healthcare facilities

Skills/Cert/Licenses

  • Strong ability to build and maintain professional relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including physicians, medical practice managers, and healthcare providers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with physicians and their staff.
  • Ability to analyze referral data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve referral processes and outcomes
  • Strong organizational abilities to manage meetings, track referral metrics, and coordinate with multiple departments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with marketing teams, referral coordinators, and practice administration to achieve common goals.
