Physical Therapist
Rebecca School is a developmental program that utilizes the DIRFloortime method, a relationship-based model of teaching instruction developed by Dr. Stanley Greenspan. Rebecca School is seeking a part-time Physical Therapist to work with students age 3 to 21 with neurodevelopmental delays in relating, communicating and thinking. As a Physical Therapist, you will play an integral role in the success of our students, developing treatment plans and goals to improve functional abilities and enhance their ability to learn. This is a part-time position requiring a commitment of 2 days per week (approximately 16 hours per week).
Pay Range is $50.00 to $70.00 per hour depending on degree and experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES | WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Deliver physical therapy services to students with special needs
- Administer pediatric physical therapy assessments to determine a student's level of function in such areas as fine/gross motor skill development, sensory motor integration, self-care and activities of daily living
- Prepare written assessment and reports identifying the student's needs and proposed treatment strategies, goals and objectives; maintain progress records
- Provide students with individual treatment and group therapy sessions to correct specific areas of sensory motor integrative dysfunction and social/emotional issues
- Educate team members on facilitation of implemented techniques or modalities (brushing, deep pressure, vibration, oral motor, feeding, HWT, etc.)
- Monitor therapy and educational staff trained to incorporate appropriate physical therapy treatment strategies into instruction; evaluate effectiveness of the established program and make modifications within the PT framework of the DIR model
- Collaborate and coordinate physical therapy goals with instruction; communicate with parents or guardians through conferences and other means to discuss student progress
- Maintain professional competence by attending staff development programs and continuing education programs
- Participate in weekly Greenspan meetings, team meetings and staff training
- Master's Degree
- License to practice Physical Therapy in NYS
- State Certification
- Knowledge of DIRFloortime is preferred, but not required
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with students, staff and parents
