Photography Intern

Sky Ranch Van, TX

  • This internship runs approximately 1 year and is a live in on site position.


This position is critical to the ministry of Sky Ranch and contributes directly to our mission of leading youth and families to know and follow Christ. The Photography Intern supports the Marketing team in the recruitment, hiring, planning, and leading of the summer media team, as well as coordinating the taking, editing and storing of photos for marketing and internal use throughout the year.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Serve in a leadership role over summer staff, including recruiting, interviewing, training, and spiritual development. Executes strategies for summer staff retention.
  • Sky Ranch Photographer – includes some evenings and weekends. Captures photos from a range of programs and departments across all sites.
  • Photo editor and organizer – will work with the Multimedia Coordinator to edit photos and then store and organize those photos properly. Leads the summer photography staff in doing the same.
  • Leading and managing Summer Media Team – includes setting expectations for summer photography, opening and closing days, and a servant-minded attitude in the day to day of summer camp.
  • Represent the Sky Ranch brand at marketing events and other situations deemed necessary, which may require some travel during the year.
  • Provide general support to the Marketing Team as required.


Other Duties And Responsibilities

  • Maintain compliance with Sky Ranch’s employee policies and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the Marketing Department by performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Multi-Media Supervisor, Creative Media Manager and Marketing Director
  • Perform other duties as required.


Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.


Experience

  • One year of experience in a related field.


KNOWLEDGE

  • How to work manual mode on a camera to take photos that align with the branding standards of Sky Ranch
  • Adobe editing software such as Lightroom Classic and Photoshop.
  • Proficient working knowledge and ability to use various office software including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

  • Excellent leadership skills necessary to appropriately influence people to achieve a desired outcome.
  • Ability to relate positively, influentially, and sensitively to a broad spectrum of persons in a variety of multi-tiered relationships and settings to include but not limited to guests (youth and families),

  • Proven successful leadership experience; ability to build unity amongst a team and motivate them to work together toward a common mission.

  • Excellent organizational skills: ability to multi-task and manage a variety of tasks.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to communicate the vision of Sky Ranch to both internal and external customers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Physical effort required on a routine basis; ability to use up to 50 pounds of force frequently for moving and carrying objects, including photography and video equipment.
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull, carry, or otherwise manipulate objects; ability to perform tasks requiring action of muscles or groups of muscles and foot and/or hand-eye coordination.
  • Requires some physical agility, including but not limited to bending for items below or reaching for items above the individual; crawling under desks; stooping, and climbing step stools or ladder.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Works indoors in normal office environment majority of the time; works outdoors during the summer season.
  • Ability to travel to various geographic locations, including travel by car/plane, and some overnight stays including weekends.
