OVERVIEW:
The Photo/Video Production Intern will be responsible for acquiring, editing, and delivering photo/video assets for the Creative Marketing and Public Relations teams. A major focus of this role will be capturing media during special events to be distributed to news outlets for PR purposes. During Fall 2024, these events will include Fiesta de la Familia, STEM Education Day, Chemistry Day, Twilight Fright, and the opening of WinterFaire.

Essential Responsibilities
- Provides photo and video services to support museum marketing and public relations needs, with a primary focus on the creation of media for distribution to news outlets and use on the museum’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube).
- Performs time-sensitive post-production editing, including incorporating soundtracks and applying graphics as needed.
- Must be flexible and able to work together with colleagues when managing photo and video shooting schedules; activities and events often occur outside of standard operating hours.
- Assists in the ongoing development and maintenance of photo/video content in a large digital asset management system available to all museum departments.
- Sophomore, Junior, or Senior status majoring in Journalism, Media, Film, Photography, or related field at college/university/trade school.
- Experience working with children is strongly preferred.
- Previous experience operating photo and video cameras.
- Previous experience recording audio.
- Experience using Photoshop and Premiere Pro is strongly preferred.
- Ability to read reports, visually assess settings and lighting, view a computer monitor, and review proofs of materials before printing.
- Ability to communicate by telephone and in face-to-face meetings and assess and utilize audio tracks.
- Must be able to handle video and still cameras and set up lighting.
- Ability to manipulate computer graphic programs and process paperwork.
- Ability to move about the property for meetings, ability to lift and carry over 50 lbs; to pick up and drop off materials at the loading dock, and the ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
