Photo Art Director

Are you a photo art director with a keen eye for detail, strong creative direction skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a creative team to achieve the brand's visual objectives? Our client, a global airline, is seeking a skilled Chicago-based Photo Art Director who can collaborate with stakeholders, educating them on photo shoot production aspects, and create compelling presentations to communicate the vision and strategy. As a Photo Art Director, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Creative Director and Senior Art Director in managing all photography-related aspects.

Portfolio Note: In order to be considered, candidate must have 5+ years of experience as a Photo Art Director, with recent samples of relevant work.

You Will:

• Manage and oversee various photo shoot elements including model selection, wardrobe direction, prop procurement, on-set guidance, and final approval to maintain high-quality visual standards
• Build comprehensive creative presentations to brief stakeholders on the upcoming shoots, effectively communicating your vision and the production strategy
• Develop detailed shot lists under the guidance of the Creative Director and Senior Art Director to address brand requirements and channel needs
• Assist the Producer/Photo Manager in model selection, wardrobe direction, and potentially securing off-site venues, ensuring alignment with the brand's vision
• Provide detailed mood boards and creative direction to the Wardrobe Stylist for cohesive visual storytelling
• Partner with the Creative Director and Senior Art Director to procure necessary props for photo shoots
• Curate and present shot selections to the Creative Director and Senior Art Director for review and approval
• Review and approve proofs of photo corrections to ensure high-quality and consistent visual standards are maintained

You Have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Photography or relevant field
• A keen eye for detail, strong creative direction skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a creative team to achieve the brand's visual objectives while engaging stakeholders in the creative process
• 5+ years of experience as a Photo Art Director
• Strong attention to the details
• Digital portfolio with relevant samples
• Experience setting up shots and ensuring that the artistic vision aligns with the brand's aesthetics
• Actively participated in photo shoots, making on-set wardrobe selections in collaboration with the Wardrobe Stylist, and providing guidance to the photographer for capturing the desired shots

Logistics:

• Projected Start Date: Immediate
• Duration: 8/16, possible extension
• Hours/Week: approximately 40, 9am – 5pm (CST)
• Onsite/offsite: Hybrid in Chicago, No more than 8 days a month onsite
• Background/Drug Screen Check needed? Yes, must clear before contract starts
• Pay Rate: $38-43/hour, DOE
