Animal Humane Society is looking for a creative visual storyteller to support our External Relations team as a Photo and Video Content Creator! Pay: $49,000-54,000 annually based on experience

Job Purpose: You are a strategic and focused communicator and collaborator with a passion for visual storytelling. You create engaging photo and video content to support a comprehensive integrated marketing strategy.

Schedule: Full-time; 40 hour/week role

Location/Remote Capabilities: The person in this position will work onsite at an AHS location capturing photo and video content at least three days a week, with the opportunity to work remotely for the remainder of their time. Access to reliable internet, ability to prioritize work independently, and foster relationships while working in a hybrid (remote and in-person) environment is required. Must live in or have easy access to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and be available for frequent face-to-face interactions in Minneapolis/St. Paul and greater Minnesota regions.

What you will be doing:

Strategy — Develop engaging photo and video content to support content strategies and organizational objectives. Proactively identify compelling storytelling opportunities.

Produce — Produce educational and promotional videos, fundraising videos, social media content, and other multimedia content. Serve as primary videographer for projects, and work closely with colleagues to coordinate and support organizational photography needs. Manage the video production process, including schedules, storyboards, interviews, scripts, and editing.

Support — Manage and organize the AHS photo and video library. Maintain photo and video equipment. Stay current with best practices and industry standards. Advocate for and facilitate a cohesive, accessible, and easy-to-use online user experience across digital platforms. Be an ambassador and a champion for AHS.

Collaboration — Partner with teams across the organization, building strong relationships and a deep understanding of AHS programs and objectives. Work closely with stakeholders and internal experts to develop solutions to our integrated work.

Communication — Foster an environment of open communication and approachability. Convey information in a clear, complete, and timely manner, consistent with brand standards and organizational messaging. Listen, pay attention, and be a responsible steward of information.

Analysis — Analyze and report on the performance of strategies. Monitor trends and needs. Leverage data and insights to inform future work.

Culture — Foster an open and inclusive work environment by modeling AHS's behaviors and values, consistent with the vision and mission of the organization. Champion a culture of safety and promote meaningful volunteer engagement.

Requirements

Experience — 2+ years of professional video storytelling experience. Exceptional photography and video production skills. Mastery of photo and video editing software and familiarity with video and social media platforms including YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook.

Computer Skills — Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite or similar photo editing and video production software.

Communication — Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, including the ability to partner collaboratively with external and internal customers and departments and gather necessary details to aid in content development.

Adaptability and Emotional Intelligence — Strong critical thinking skills and a high degree of emotional intelligence. Ability to solve problems and work positively, professionally, and with close attention to detail in a variety of situations.

Emotional Capabilities — Must be able to handle the physical and emotional aspect of work in an animal shelter environment, including the humane use of euthanasia. Must have a high level of resiliency.

Schedule — Availability to work during operational hours with the expectation to work varied hours including evening and weekend shifts as needed.

Transportation — Reliable transportation is required.
