PPCCC is a trusted provider of high-quality, affordable reproductive health care along California’s Central Coast. Each year, PPCCC provides 35,000 people on the central coast with health care services; including sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, birth control, breast and cervical cancer screenings, vasectomies, and safe and legal abortion care at our six health center locations. PPCCC also provides comprehensive sexuality education programs to help adults and teens make healthy decisions, prevent unintended pregnancies, and avoid sexually transmitted infection.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Philanthropy Associate will provide support to all fundraising operations, development operations, and donor relations. Primary focus on gift processing, donor acknowledgment, database queries, reports, major donor support, and special events. The Philanthropy Associate will manage the function of prospect/donor research.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assist in gift processing and donor acknowledgment and maintenance of donor records.

Assist Director of Philanthropic Operations on Raiser’s Edge projects.

Provide operational assistance for special events, including registering and maintaining guest lists, confirming attendance, responding to phone calls and requests for information, and other duties as assigned for fund-raising events. These events include but not limited to, the Babette’s Feast, the Book Sale, the Birds and Bees Bash, Choice Affairs and Politics, and Sex & Cocktails.

Manage donor and prospect research functions including analytics and reports.

Manage returned mail; research new addresses and phone numbers for donors;

Maintain inventory of letterhead and other materials.

Provide administrative and organizational support for department fundraising programs such as grants, major gifts, and direct mail.

Maintain confidentiality regarding donor information.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong organizational skills

Strong verbal, written and presentation skills

Strong PC skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and internet research. Raiser’s Edge experiences is a plus.

Ability to interact with donors, volunteers, and the general public in a positive manner

Must have excellent customer service skills and be committed to providing the highest level of customer satisfaction to both internal and external customers

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Candidate must be able to travel throughout PPCCC geographic area

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

BA or HS Diploma plus equivalent experience

Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in non-profit fundraising activities and direct mail projects is a plus, but not required

Donor cultivation and stewardship experience.

Ability to research and gather information

Ability to organize large amounts of data/information into reports/presentations that all levels of staff can understand

Willing to work flexible hours, including Saturdays and evenings when necessary

Planned Parenthood California Central Coast’s (PPCCC’s) compensation philosophy supports the organization’s mission, vision, and values. Each position has a salary based on market value and the organization’s pay levels. The starting salary for this position is $26.53/hour with an opportunity for an increase after six months of employment. As part of our commitment to pay equity, PPCCC does not negotiate salaries.
