The Graduate Administrative Assistant for the Philanthropic Fulfillment department will support the administration of all scholarships, fund commitments, and organizational stewardship efforts. The Graduate Administrative Assistant will assist in the processing of approved fund agreements, administration of annual scholarships in advance of the university awarding cycle, and support in the recognition and stewardship of donors.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Uphold SDSU Foundation Standards
Responsible for upholding the standards of the SDSU Foundation especially pertaining to quality control and other elements that impact relationships with donors and use of data and information
Fund Administration Support
Process all approved Memorandum of Agreements (MOAs)
Maintain the organizational tracking and filing system for pending and completed agreements
Scholarship Administration Support
Assist in the loading of annual scholarship awards to the university
Assist in the annual scholarship thank you note process in collaboration with the university and creative services department
Donor Recognition and Stewardship Support
Assist in the organizational stewardship initiatives including the gift thank you process
Assist in the administration of the organization’s donor recognition societies
Other Duties
Other duties may be assigned to meet the organization’s needs
Education Requirements
Candidates must be qualified for unconditional admission to Graduate School at South Dakota State University.

Customer service skills requiring clear communication in person, on the phone, and in writing are essential
A high level of integrity, including ability to treat confidential information with discretion.
Ability to be organized and resourceful to locate and compile information and accomplish projects with minimal supervision.
Consistent attention to detail in composing and proofing materials, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.

Dependability and punctuality
High energy, positive attitude, and high degree of initiative
Proficient experience using the most recent versions of computer software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software (i.e. MSWord, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Compensation
In addition to an hourly rate, includes a special tuition rate (waiver of tuition costs, university support fee and program fees for state-support and self-support courses).
Work Schedule
This assistantship requires a commitment of 20 hours per week and is based in Brookings, SD. The work schedule may vary based on class schedule.
Typical Physical Demands
Requires sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and some lifting. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, calculators, the telephone, and other office and/or clerical equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
